1) First,
find the first common multiple of the denominators of the fractional parts.
2) Then,
convert the fractional parts to like fractions.
This 'like' to not the 'like' of facebook. :-)
Like fractions means the fractions must share the common denominator.
3) Finally,
add/subtract the whole number before add/subtract the factional parts.
